Coniston

The Village of Coniston is quite breathtaking and steeped in much History. Dominating the views,  The Old Man Of Coniston and surrounding Fells make a dramatic backdrop for the banks of terrace cottages originally built for the copper miners who worked high up in the valley created by this Volcanic mountain range. The beautiful village nestles between the Fells and the Lake shore and has been a popular holiday destination since the Victorian days. The Lake, Coniston Water,  is five miles long with beautiful views all along the shore line, it is much quieter and more peaceful than Windermere. You can explore Coniston water by boat, including the elegant Victorian Steam Yacht Gondola for a more majestic tour of the surroundings. Coniston is a great base for walkers, cyclists and people really just wanting to see the beauty of the Lake District. We can be found a short walk from the village centre heading down Lake Road towards the water. We look forward to seeing you.
